The Complete Char Dham Journey

From your doorstep in Delhi to the four sacred dhams of Uttarakhand.

The Char Dham Yatra — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath — is the most sacred pilgrimage circuit in Hinduism. Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, these four shrines are believed to cleanse a lifetime of karma and grant moksha to those who complete the journey with devotion.

Our Delhi package removes the complexity entirely. We pick you up from your home, railway station, or airport in Delhi — and bring you back to the same spot 12 days later. No arranging separate cabs, no coordinating at Haridwar, no worry about mountain roads. One vehicle, one team, door to door.

The itinerary follows the traditional clockwise sequence prescribed in the Puranas: Yamunotri first, then Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath last. Every hotel is pre-booked. Every meal is pure vegetarian. Our drivers know every mountain road in Garhwal.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

12 days, unhurried.

Day 1

Delhi · Haridwar · Local Darshan

Pickup from Delhi · Mansa Devi · Chandi Devi · Har Ki Pauri · Ganga Aarti

Pickup from Delhi early morning. Drive to Haridwar (250 km, ~5 hrs). Check into hotel. Visit Mansa Devi Temple on Bilwa Parvat by ropeway, then Chandi Devi Temple on Neel Parvat. In the afternoon, walk the sacred ghats of Har Ki Pauri — the spot where the Ganga leaves the mountains. Evening Ganga Aarti at Brahmakund. Overnight in Haridwar.

Day 2

Haridwar · Barkot

180 km · ~6 hrs · Yamunotri base

After breakfast, drive to Barkot (180 km, ~6 hrs) — passing through Mussoorie, Nainbagh, and the Yamuna valley. Scenic mountain roads with river views throughout. Check in at hotel. Rest of day at leisure. Overnight at Barkot.

Day 3

Barkot · Janki Chatti · Yamunotri · Barkot

Trek 6 km each way · Surya Kund · Yamunotri Temple

Early breakfast, then drive to Janki Chatti (45 km) — the trailhead for Yamunotri. Trek 6 km one way (pony or doli available at extra cost) through forest and mountain terrain to Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Take a holy dip in Surya Kund hot spring, cook rice in the thermal waters as prasad, and complete darshan and pooja. Return trek to Janki Chatti, then drive back to Barkot. Overnight at Barkot.

Day 4

Barkot · Uttarkashi

100 km · ~4 hrs · Vishwanath Temple

After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi (100 km, ~4 hrs) along the Bhagirathi river valley. Check in at hotel. Evening visit to the ancient Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi — one of the most sacred Shiva temples in the Garhwal Himalayas, housing a massive trident said to be wielded by Goddess Durga. Overnight in Uttarkashi.

Day 5

Uttarkashi · Gangotri Darshan · Uttarkashi

100 km each way · ~4 hrs each · Harsil · Gangotri Temple

Early breakfast, then drive to Gangotri (100 km, ~4 hrs) — passing through the scenic Harsil valley with apple orchards and deodar forests along the Bhagirathi. Arrive at Gangotri Temple (3,100 m), the source of the Ganges. Complete darshan and pooja at Gangotri Mata Temple. Walk to Bhagirath Shila — the rock where King Bhagirath is said to have meditated to bring the Ganga to earth. Return to Uttarkashi for overnight.

Day 6

Uttarkashi · Guptakashi / Phata / Sitapur

220 km · ~9 hrs · Kedarnath base

Long drive day through the Garhwal mountains — past Tehri Dam, Devprayag (confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi), Rudraprayag, and up to Guptakashi or Phata. Guptakashi is a sacred town with the Vishwanath and Ardhnarishwar temples. Check in and rest ahead of the Kedarnath trek. Overnight at Guptakashi / Phata / Sitapur.

Day 7

Guptakashi · Gaurikund · Kedarnath

Trek 16 km · Kedarnath Temple · 3,583 m · Jyotirlinga

Drive to Gaurikund (1,982 m), the Kedarnath trailhead. Trek 16 km to Kedarnath (pony or palki available at extra cost). Kedarnath Temple — one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, believed to date to the Pandava era and rebuilt by Adi Shankaracharya — stands against the backdrop of Kedarnath peak. Attend the evening aarti. Overnight near Kedarnath (basic accommodation included).

Day 8

Kedarnath · Gaurikund · Guptakashi

Morning aarti · Trek down 16 km · Drive back

Wake early for morning aarti and darshan at Kedarnath — sunrise on the Himalayan peaks from the temple courtyard is among the most profound moments of the yatra. Trek back to Gaurikund (16 km). Drive to Guptakashi / Phata / Sitapur. Overnight rest.

Day 9

Guptakashi · Pipalkoti / Joshimath

210 km · ~8-9 hrs · Badrinath base

Drive through the Alaknanda valley — past Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and into the higher Himalayas — to Pipalkoti or Joshimath (210 km, ~8-9 hrs). Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath and home to the Shankaracharya Math. Check in and rest ahead of Badrinath darshan. Overnight.

Day 10

Joshimath · Badrinath Darshan · Joshimath

75 km each way · ~2-3 hrs each · Badrinath Temple · 3,133 m

Drive to Badrinath (75 km, ~2-3 hrs) along the Alaknanda river. Badrinath Temple — one of the Char Dhams and dedicated to Lord Vishnu — is set against the Neelkanth peak at 3,133 m. Complete darshan and pooja. Visit Tapt Kund (natural hot spring), Brahma Kapal (for ancestral rites), and Mana village — the last Indian village before the Tibet border, 3 km from Badrinath. Return to Joshimath / Pipalkoti for overnight.

Day 11

Joshimath · Haridwar

165 km · ~6 hrs · Devprayag confluence

After breakfast, drive back to Haridwar (165 km, ~6 hrs). Stop at Devprayag for a brief darshan at the sacred confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi — where the Ganga is born. Arrive Haridwar by evening. Last night in the holy city. Optional visit to Har Ki Pauri for one final dip. Overnight in Haridwar.
